FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT

Despite travelling with a much-weakened side, Mounts Bay's notorious Boarding Party set off for East Anglia with confidence levels running high. Last minute hangovers injuries to both the Chairman, well-known Penzance philanderer philanthropist Mr Bayof Plenty & vertically imposing Treasurer Mr Druth Hurts meant that the formidable up-front pairing was unavailable for selection. Leading his side into bottle battle for only the second time this season, the wild-eyed Vice-Chairman & Vladimir Putin impersonator Mr Bay Eck was quoted as saying " 'Appen I'm reet fired oop fer this 'un, lad. That soppy soothern b*st*rd's been hogging t'limelight fer too bloody long, it's 'igh time they put a Yorkshireman in charge o't' country, I mean Boarding Party. Eeeeeh." Interviewed at his plush convalescent home, Mr Plenty retorted "Feh! Lead them to the bar? That Yorkshire pudden'll 'ave them sat in cosy armchairs in the lounge, sippin' shandies with their little fingers crooked in the air! Now p*ss off, me 'ead's poundin!" As we went to press, Mr Hurts was unavailable for comment but a spokesman, Mr Hal Ford asked us to keep the noise down as the Treasurer was trying to get "a bit of shuteye".
Strenuously denying claims that he had been involved in the selection process, the BP Secretary Mr P. Zedowon told our reporter, "I'm afraid I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. Now, would you kindly leave, as I'm trying to run a business here and your camera is unsettling the coolies."

Mounts Bay rugby supremo Mr Michael Leah declined to be interviewed, saying that he wished to dissociate himself & his club from what he described as "the reprehensible behaviour of these inebriates", adding "I can't help but notice that some rotter has dumped a large pile of empty Guinness cans in your garden. Would you like to hire a skip?"

Am I right in thinking the BP have hired Sir Ranulph Fiennes to lead the expedition into the darkest corners of East Anglia.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said but I'm not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant!!

Apparently Mr Bay Eck was selected to lead the BP team because the word "North" was in the name of the team being visited.  This led to Mr Eck immediately setting off for Yorkshire to seek out this place called Walsham oop north but when he arrived someone pointed out that as MBRFC was in National League 3 South this was unlikely.  He then headed back south easterly and was last seen asking a young postman for a light.

Mr Chairman, I’m lead to believe horror upon horror that Newlyn Boy has left his lair and crossed the bridge with Hope, Hope of what I’m not sure, and seems intent on making his way to East Anglia, EAST ANGLIA, Lowestoft, Great Yarmouth. He must be returned before Sunday.

The Secretary

It will be a good trip for those brave enough to make it.

I note the Boarding Party is going with a much weakened weekend team.

Don't forget the lost hour on Sunday, though I suspect some will lose more than an hour - perhaps even as much as a whole day.

Sorry, I should have added: what an excellent opener for this thread by BoP. I wonder if he is a closet Yorkie.

Mr Chairman, further information has reached me that Newlyn Boy has departed by train, it is my believe that reinforcements need to be sent to East Anglia, to that end and at great personal sacrifice I have contacted an Irishman of my acquaintance a Mr Ryan and he is supplying me with a fast jet, I will be departing at first light with my supporter, Mrs Pz01, I will endeavour to prevent Newlyn Boy from laying waste to Lowestoft and point him in the direction of any remaining Viking’s in the area. If by any chance I cross the path of our Vice Chairman, and they let me in to the posh seats, I will lead him to the bar and force him to order a real drink.

Excellent post, BoP.  Were you still drunk when you wrote that?  After pi**ing it up till 5.30 this morning with our esteemed Chairman, i'm only now livening up. Never again.  At least until next weekend, of course!

Speaking of five-thirty, I've just got back from my step-dad's pre-birthday bash (a quiet glass of Bailey's, mother said)
A closet Yorkie... well, it could OF been worse -  he didn't accuse me of being from Newlyn.
