Won away at Morley 26-16. Don't ask me how they played though, I watched Old Parkonians 2ndXV v Hoylake 2ndXV. Decent game for its level. Hoylake went 19-0 up, and should have had at least two more tries. Parks were just wide with a conversion that would have drawn the match for them.

Hoylake are left clutching at straws as Ian Westwater goes for the try line.

I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

That would be one for the record books if we drew Mounts Bay again.

Could do with being up here - it might give us half a chance. I don't think we have strengthened as much as Bay in the close season. While we have just brought in three new players (I have not seen them yet) I think we are still a bit behind you in the pecking order.

I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

What's the betting we get Redruth away, and you get Waterloo away!

Typical game for Caldy. In the lead at 65 minutes, then give points away - on this occasion (but not for the first time) to lose.

The only downside of our win today is that it was at the expense of Beverley. Our victory keeps them well and truly at the foot of the table. The Caldy second row was back together for the first time in a  number of weeks, and that helped us quite considerably.

The Beverley team looked fairly good in the first half, but did a Redruth at half-time. Well not exactly; they did appear to come out on the pitch, but appearances aren't everything.

I hope they have a run of decent results. Each week they fail to make ground on the teams above them puts increased pressure on them for the next game. Tempus is fugiting, as they say.

I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

Good win for Beverley yesterday, away at Bradford & B.

An even better win for Caldy 4ths at Old Parkonians, 14-5.
Al Roberts leaps in the line:

I'm saying nothing about our game on Saturday.

Well if you insist. Three late cries off illiterally decimated the Caldy 4th team squad. Fortunately West Park St. Helens 2nd cried off against out 2nds at 13:15, so four of them travelled with us. This came in useful because Waterloo were two players short (and several tall) so both sides took the field with 15 men (if one can call them that).

As kick off approached the weather worsened - rain and strong wind. For the first 15 minutes conditions were bad, but slowly they improved. Mark Dean, normally 2nd row in the 2nd team now played at centre and scored a 50 meter breakaway try. This is his last game for Caldy as he heads off soon to live in Mobile, USA. A fitting end to his Caldy career. (Some of you will have met him - he was the tall guy in the Turks Head on the Friday night, before last years semi-final.)

Caldy lost 12-7 in spite of his try. As I played for Waterloo, I am unsure if I won or lost. Good close game though.

I would give my right arm to be ambidextrous.

If this thread heads off into a gut-full of puns, I suppose I shall have to shoulder the blame.
