For those interested in the well being of "South-West" rugby it is sad to relate that the team from its heartland, aka Maidenhead, lost 53-5 to Bournemouth on Saturday.  Perhaps it had several players away with the England squad.

Congratulations to Bournemouth

You can't beat the bracing air of Bournemouth and then get stuck into Maidenhead.

Maidenhead got stuffed 64-5 by Bracknell at the weekend and are now in real danger of relegation from SW1.

Beware the Curse of Wino!

Shame.   I must get along there soon and cheer the opposition.

Maidenhead lost at home to Redingensians last time out 15-12. The next fixture, in a couple of weeks, is away to Reading. Are two teams relegated from SW1? I am pleased for their coach that things are going well for them, but it is a shame for the real club-men when there is a bad run.

2 down I believe, to accomodate winners of SW2 West and SW2 East[albeit the latter is a contradiction in terms].
Check out that Snives points difference.

Keep Nat Div 2 national.

Stroud, when we were in SW1 last season we were beaten there in the league then went back the following week and beat them there in the EDF Intermediate Cup, on our way to Twickenham.

Various comments made by a number of their prominent members in various media demonstrated them to be one of the most ungracious clubs many of us had ever encountered.

A number of Bay fans are now enjoying their hubris.

More amusingly, they claim that Maidenhead RFC is "the home of south west rugby".  South west of where they don't say!

In fairness, I did post a facetious remark / picture or two regarding them... I really can't explain such uncharacteristic behaviour smile/zemin.gif

You were sober?

Thanks for clearing that up Wino.

Being too close to the big smoke has 'maiden' all cocky.

No excuse for that attitude.

I, as my ancestors before me, live by the motto in my signature.  Maybe slightly out of these days but the fundamental sentiment still applies to many.

Stroud, I'm afraid I don't speak Cornish (English is a struggle!) so I'd be grateful for a translation.

From where I'm sitting, St Just RFC would have the best claim to be "The home of South West Rugby"

Thanks, Stroud - a noble sentiment indeed!

I like to think that, although we were unhappy to lose, that sentiment was well demonstrated by Bay players and fans alike at the recent Ealing game
