You all remember the side that had the lucky win against you in the cup. Well things haven't been going too well for them of late. Closure is threatened if a £100,000 bond is not in place by Wednesday.

I took this from the Coventry forum.

"In conjunction with the Supporters Club a decision has been made to raise an e-petition for onward transmission to the RFU.The raising of the petition is to show the RFU the strong support for Coventry Rugby Club,in this area and also worldwide. To show that the club is a deep source of pride and support in our team and our community.
DO NOT LET IT JUST FADE INTO OBLIVION."

Easy here, not much involved click the link http://www.gopetition.co.uk/online/20218.html if you think it is a good idea to keep Coventry afloat.

Latest news is that they have raised £43k and they have until noon on wednesday to raise the 100k or go into administration with the usual RFU sanction of relegation.

It leaves a lot for them to do. The hope is that there is money on its way to the main account that has not got there yet. I do wonder  if there are some who will take starting at the bottom, as Bay did, if that means regaining control of their club.

Sorry but I have no sympathy for them. Look at what happened to Scottish and Richmond, but yet Coventry get another chance even though it has a price tag of 100k.

You know my thoughts on this matter. Sentiment is for wimps.

I've no time for people who put an 'h' where it has no right to be...
Anyway, if you've no sympathy, why are you sorry?

There has to be room for sentiment. It gets in the way otherwise.

DW, most of the Coventry supporters were against the ban which had been imposed by Andrew Green. One or two of the real stalwarts refused to attend home games while the ban was in place. Laugh Out Loud was one of them. He has kept a dignified silence, in the main, over the last few weeks and seems to be the sort of real supporter/member every club should have.

Coventry 16 Pirates 0

An excellent result for Coventry considering the turmoil there has been at the club. The players had to endure a spell of at least being paid late, and wondering if they would have a job at all by the season start.

In spite of all the shenanigans from Andrew Green, the Cov coaches and players have got their act together.
