CAB's home match with Northampton has been moved to Franklin's Gardens!

The extra bucks will pay for Shane Drahm then.

Big thread on the Pirates site about this one if anyone has a few minutes, with lots of Saints boys having their twopennyworth. It seems pretty unfair on Lanson supporters and the potential offer of a pre season friendly seems to acknowledge that.
Also looks like Lanson have effectively abandoned hope of taking any points from the game, which is surprising given their parlous position.
Wonder if Drahm will turn out for 2 games against his former club; is he being paid by the game??

Keep Nat Div 2 national.

Drahm gone back to Worcester after 1 game, and Tim Collier sent off on his debut at  Notts.
Plus if you read the CAB website they say that they have signed Collier & a South African hooker specifically for the cup game, with 2 guys cup tied, so how does that make Div 1 survival the priority?
Add 2 tonkings in a week and over 100 points conceded, and it's all turned a bit gloomy I'm afraid.

Keep Nat Div 2 national.

Crowd of 8200 although for a lot of Saints fans["pledge" season ticket holders whatever they are] it was a free game, so I don't know what Lanson's share of the gate will be.
It hasn't done much for their points difference though, with the "away" game at Saints still to come.

Keep Nat Div 2 national.

I don't think Lanson were going to get a share of gate receipts, just a straight cash value.

This fixture arrangement was a disgrace and should never have been allowed, regardless of any precedent,it has done nothing for the CAB's reputation and i really feel for their fans.
It has made a mockery of National One rugby and i fear that it will be used by RFU/FDR when they try to push through plans for a fully professional Nat One league of 12 teams.
If that does happen, will we also see a Premiership and Nat One of 12 teams, and 3 leagues of Nat 2,north,mid and south.

Does seem a shame, not sure the floodlight argument holds, start of April when the clocks have changed would sort that.  I do hope They stay in div1 but fear Saturdays home loss has put an end to that.

How many would turn up on a tuesday night?? Probably not many. Probably just a few hundred of the die hard supporters. Its in the past now anyway, so roll on saturday. If people refuse to continue their support because of it, they are not real fans. It wasn't the players decision so why should they suffer the loss of support. The ones that moan and don't turn up because of 'principle' are the ones letting the players down. Speculation is great, may be there was more than just flood lights that aided the decision. And as much as I would like to know, its a business these days and the general public are not privvy to some decisions that have to be made.

CB-I think your comment "it wasn't the players'decision " is the key one; not sure how they feel about missing the chance to take on saints at Polson.
For what it's worth, there are a number of complimentary comments on the Saints forum re the style of rugby played by Lanson[compared very favourably against Rotherham] and on Matt Jess in particular.

Keep Nat Div 2 national.

It was done for the money, why not be honest about it and cut out the spin.

I'm looking forward to next season.  It looks like national 1 survival is beyond hope.  At least if a Cornish club has to drop it makes for a local(ish) derby for Mounts Bay.

A wise man once said 'A little learning is a dangerous thing'.  I just wish I knew who it was.
