Should imagine any celebrations on that result are now over;

Wadebridge Camels 50 (Fifty) - 13 St. Ives in the Cornwall Cup!!!

Always hang out in the red zone!

I am not sure what the season now holds for St Ives.
They seem too far away from salvaging survival in SW1, then the Cup may have been their only realistic chance for some silverware. As the top rated club in the cup, they would surely have fancied their chances. Especially after such a resounding win against neighbours Hayle on Boxing day, it should have set themselves up nicely for this Cup game.
Oh well, John has plenty of time preparing for life in SW2 next season....not the ideal baptism of fire in your first season as coach. Better luck next season John and stick at it, your enthusiasm and spirit will reap its rewards.

Still think they have time to turn it around.  Yes they have lots of youngsters but they also have a core of experienced players.  Morale appears to be the key, heads have dropped after some of those thrashings.

But after recording a 50 point win on the Weds to then go and lose by 50+ on the Saturday to a side two leagues lower?
Of course it may not have been the same team but morale should have been quite high?

Both meaningless games with comined team of youngsters/reserves.  Perhaps the rumours of the merger with Hayle RFC could also be un-settling.

Well it shows that the Camels are on the up with John May doing a good job at Wadebridge, if not this season then next they could well be pushing hard for SW2 west

Always hang out in the red zone!

Why so meaningless? I could understand the Boxing Day game but the Cup game yesterday was the only chance to shine for St Ives this season!
Go on NB, tell us more about the merger rumour or are you being mischievious!

Sorry, thought it was well known, Hayle gonna sell their ground, worth a lot with recent developments on the site.  Merger or ground share with Hakes options being considered.

A merger of clubs? I think the end result is that even less people will play or be involved in the game. I believe it should be resisted.

Sorry to Wadebridge Camels for not giving them full credit.  Speaking to a Hakes player who told me it was the full strength team they put out but the Camels played superb.

No the paper was wrong. Guy who works with me plays for St Ives and indeed Mr Evans has set sail and did not play on Saturday.

Looks like TDH is safe for the time being then - or could he soon be "sleeping with-a da fishes"?  smile/2gunsfiring_v1.gif

I think I shall stick to what I'm good at and, as soon as I can work out what that is, I shall stick to it!

See St Ives had lost 53-0 at Maidenhead. See that Richard Humphries was at the Bay game.
