Most clubs in nat 3 north are actually in the north[as opposed to midlands, ie Leicester Lions and Rugby] so travelling distances are less. North seems more competitive; Tynedale well clear at top and Beverley adrift at bottom, bit much smaller points gap between 2nd and 13th than in 3 South. Not sure what this says about quality of teams, though. From limited exposure to 3 North, I would say crowds are definitely bigger in South. Is anyone interested ?

IF whats rumoured ,actually happens, then at the end of next season Nat 2,Nat 3 North and South, will become 3 leagues of Nat 2 North,Mid and South, with less travelling but also less RFU funding. They also want to reduce Nat One to 12 teams so 4 are to be relegated at the end of next season into the Nat 2 leagues. It appears this is what the RFU and Rob Andrew want for England,2 fully professional leagues of 12 teams, but is it whats best for the club game or do they really care about the lower leagues?? |

I'll be backing Cinderford to beat their North counterpart in the playoff place!.

I think it all depends on who can bring in the most loan players for that play off game dont you. |

Just an idle thought on my part, initially set in motion by a Pz01 posting on another forum. Crowds are much bigger in the North. I kid you not. I have just looked at the figures for this season on the NCA website: South 52,8095, North 337648! (I think someone pressed the wrong key - probably 33,648 or 37,648.) The points gap between second and thirteenth places is about half in Nat3N what it is in Nat3S. In terms of who will win the play off, the home side will be at a big advantage - but travel will be much easier for Darlington MP if Cinderford are runners-up. Fylde might just slip in ahead of DMP, in which case travel is easier again. Pirate Pig, the RFU will, I am sure, do what is best for the Bay, no. --Last edited by DaveH on 2008-03-31 03:30:16 --

Rob Andrew and RFU care about lower leagues? The Ku Klux Klan care more about racial harmony.
