Newlyn Boy,
As I have previously stated I do follow Bay as well but first and foremost the Pirates are 'my team' and although I would have loved for them to stay at the Mennaye,I knew that to realise our dream of getting to the premiership,we had to move.
IF the dream fails, then I think it will be a real possibility that the Pirates will return to a 'revamped' Mennaye and no doubt with a lesser budget, will find their level to play at,of course IF this did happen then there will be a knock-on effect and Bay could be the losers,as I doubt IF the local area could support two Nat league sides.
I really hope that the Pirates make the premiership,it would be fantastic for the club and the County and being selfish,it would also allow Bay to continue playing at the Mennaye and providing rugby for the town, which we all enjoy.

I'm not entirely certain how a lessened budget would enable a "revamping" of anywhere, & also unsure how the Pirates organisation would feel about losing the rent income provided by Mount's Bay should they (for whatever reason) leave the Mennaye.

What of all the talk of the new stadium at Truro? Surely  an agreement would need to be in place before premiership rugby arrived for the Pirates; and if in place I don't see how a return to the Mennaye could happen, even if premiership status were not attained. Is this 'Truro' plan now shelved? Is the grand alliance, set up by Evans and Heaney, dead? Does anyone know the answers?

True that nothing is being reported about the Heaney/Evans tie-up but that is pretty normal when businessmen want to conduct their negotiations in private. I do understand that talks are ongoing though so I suppose when the Pirates want us to know something they will tell us.

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said but I'm not sure you realise that what you heard is not what I meant!!

I am sure you are right arfur. The trouble with all 'celebrities' is that they use the media as and when it suits them. It is with themselves that their interest lies, not with the ordinary punter.

Well I understand that planning permission was denied and therefore Heaney has pulled all his money from Truro City, which is why so many quit. Team Manager Dave ? was the first and rumour has it that several players are to leave. Dont quote me on any of this as it is just what I have heard.

Heard from a reliable source that funding had also been withdrawn recently from the junior sections at Truro City also.

I presume then (if you are correct Morgs) that Mr. Heaney will figure in  one of two options: 1) He will put his money into something else 2) He is not in as healthy a financial situation as he would like, and he does not have the money to put into the bottomless pit that is sport.

Heard the Truro city Director of Football  being interviewed at the week-end,saying they had just signed ex-Argyle player Sean McCarthy as manager and he also mentioned they were speaking to a number of new players.
I've just had a quick look on their fans forum and they all seem happy with the appointment and it doesn't look like any money crisis from what I could see.

Truro did have a good year, and pipped Bay (amongst others) to Team of the year down your end of things - much to the chagrin of most of the Bay 'forumers'.

I expect the interest for most of us is not about him putting money into Truro poofball- who cares.

NB, who indeed cares about Truro FC. What does matter though is who  payrolls the rugby clubs. Mr. Heaney would not be the first to realize that rugby can be sponsored for a lot less than football. Also of course, if the Pirates-Truro deal is dead, it, I would suggest, is a little more likely that Pirates will think about a return to the Mennaye if the Premiership dream fails.

Well, that's DaveH for you.  Why use a couple of words when a paragraph can be used?

I think I shall stick to what I'm good at and, as soon as I can work out what that is, I shall stick to it!

TDH, I shall let you into a secret you have just written a paragrah and so did Newlyn Boy. Did no one ever teach you what a paragraph is? Mind NB's lack of commas does make his sentence, and, at the same time, his paragraph, difficult to read. Never mind the apostrophe, think about the comma, or even coma, if too much rattler has been consumed.

I was framed!
But at least I can spell 'paragraph'.

Fair comment, never doubted you for a minute.

I did actually nip out for that 'p', but by the time I got there the moment had gone.

However a sentence should not be started with but, but with however.

Yeah, alright Dave.  You are correct on the occasion.
But Seriously, tell it to Phil Collins.

I trust we are not going into a Phil Collins pun extravaganza. Hello, is that the time, I must be going.
