Looks like the re-building is well and truly underway at St Ives after the mass exodus of players, John Navin has joined them from Redruth as player/coach with Cornwall coach Joff Rowe as his right hand man. New signings include Evo, Josh 'shango' Stevens, Julian Hoskin a flanker/hooker from Redruth, 4 from Penzance Colts, a Kiwi 2nd row and Ireland u21 international number 8 with more signings to be announced soon.

Looks like things are slowly on the up for them.

It is quite amazing how things look different at St. Ives. A few weeks back it looked as though there were problems, with, as you say, a mass exodus. Now, several arrivals would seem to totally change their prospects. Without wishing to upset you at Bay, I wish them well.

Its good to have a strong St Ives, would be great to see them in the same league again, could do with a local darby.

Well said, Pz (there's poetry there, if you look for it)
I'm sure a lot of us have enjoyed a little banter with the Hakes once or twice... I doubt if any have truly wanted them to be in serious difficulty.  St Ives is an important club in Cornish rugby, & I'm sure my fellow members of the BP join me in wishing them well in their endeavours

I wish them well but not for them to be in same league as Bay again.  Truely awful matches that were far too tense.

Nothing wrong with a bit of tension, NB
Personally, I'd like to see the Hakes do well, just never quite as well as Bay

I liked the tension of not knowing if Bay would get 100pts on the board or not.  I guess those days have gone.

I agree, no-one wants to see a Cornish side slipping.  Penryn and Truro are two sides who've had a lot of problems over the last couple of years.  It seems St AAaaarghs are building a good new squad.  Here's hoping Truro and Penryn can do the same!

On the subject of Bay reaching 100 points in a game, The Boarding Party could challenge them to a game!

I suppose if we blindfolded the Bay squad to even things up a bit there may be a doubt whether they hit 100 points or not.

I think I shall stick to what I'm good at and, as soon as I can work out what that is, I shall stick to it!

Never met you, so I wouldn't know.  I do know however, that if there's one position I wouldn't wanna play it'd be that one. Ouch!

TDH,

Newlyn Boy is in no fit state to play anywhere at the moment. Once he throws away his crutches he will be able to get back to a bit of spin bowling. Rugby? Not for a while I feel.

If this knee is better then maybe can become medium paced trundler again.  As for the rugby I will have to become Victor Olonga- a legend down here Dave- no matter how muddy the pitch he would still finish the game with clean kit.

NB,

I thought you were going to refer to Victor Silvester, only because he ended up being one-legged, but carried on dancing (or at least conducting his dance band).

Is your Victor Olonga related to Henry Olonga, Zimbawean cricket player (though born in Zambia)?

I did know someone who played at Birkenhead Park who, while he didn't manage to keep his kit super clean, would sometimes light up a ciggie while playing.

Merlin,

You must have a twin. There have been several postings on forums about internet speed, or lack of it. I presume yours is very sluggish at present.
